Abby was our beautiful and wonderful Golden Retriever. She passed away very suddenly and tragically from a right atrial heart rupture and hemopericardium due to hemangiosarcoma.This highly aggressive cancer had been undetected until the catastrophic right heart rupture and Abby's subsequent collapse. Abby had displayed no symptoms nor any obvious health changes. She was happy and joyful.

Abby was our special girl. She was an important member of our family-we were " a group of four". Abby was involved in all aspects of our family life. She was a wonderful fun loving girl-always happy,tail wagging,smiling. She was gentle and kind (would always offer one of her special stuffed toys to make someone feel better or as a happy hello!), and she was caring. She was the best!!

On the morning of her passing she was happy playing, chasing her tail and running in the snow on her walk. During the walk she experienced the heart rupture and we rushed her to the Emergency Vet Clinic. She was very quickly diagnosed and due to the severity of her condition we did not have any options-she was put to sleep. We are devastated.

Moments before her death Abby was still Abby-attempting to lift her head and pat at my arm to comfort us. She passed away being held by us the way she liked to cuddle in the evenings-her head in my arms and her paws being held by Dad...We were so blessed to share our lives with her and she will forever be in our hearts.
